In a historic move for the media industry, REVOLT has announced its current employees will become the company’s largest shareholder group. This shift positions REVOLT as a champion for employee ownership and wealth creation within marginalized communities.

REVOLT’s CEO, Detavio Samuels, shared the significance of this decision, stating, “Our mission is bigger than any individual,” and highlighting the company’s commitment to empowering not just creators but also its own workforce. This move aligns perfectly with REVOLT’s mission of changing the narrative surrounding Black culture on a global scale.

The transition to an employee-owned model ensures that those who fuel REVOLT’s growth – its dedicated team – will directly benefit from its success. The specifics of equity distribution are still being finalized, but REVOLT assures a “smooth and fair distribution process” will be implemented in the coming months.

This unprecedented move sets a powerful new standard for the media industry. It prioritizes equity participation for employees, many of whom hail from communities historically excluded from wealth-building opportunities. REVOLT has a long history of supporting Black communities, reinvesting $50 million annually and funding Black entrepreneurs without demanding equity in return. Now, the company extends its commitment to empowerment by making its employees direct stakeholders in its success. Samuels reiterates the importance of REVOLT’s team, stating, “They deserve participation in our growth.”

With this transition, REVOLT paves the way for a future where media companies can be engines for social and economic change. As Sean “Diddy” Combs steps down as chair and his shares are fully redeemed, REVOLT enters a new era, one in which its employees own a significant stake in the company they’re building.
