Felicia Pride is once again proving that when it comes to Black joy and high-stakes romance, she has the golden touch!

The award-winning filmmaker and television writer’s production shingle, HONEY CHILE Entertainment, has officially acquired the film and television rights to Kristina Forest’s hit The Greene Sisters trilogy.

The deal with Penguin Random House brings three fan-favorite novels—The Neighbor Favor, The Partner Plot, and The Love Lyric—to the screen. For the uninitiated (and if you haven’t added these to your reading list, what are you waiting for?), the series follows three high-achieving sisters as they juggle big-city ambitions, family legacy, and the kind of modern love that makes your heart skip. While each book stands on its own, together they weave a gorgeous, multi-layered view of contemporary Black sisterhood.

Three book covers by Kristina Forest featuring romantic themes. The titles include 'The Neighbor Favor,' 'The Party Plot,' and 'The Love Lyric.' Each cover showcases vibrant colors and illustrations depicting couples in various settings.

Pride is set to write and produce the first film in the franchise, serving as producer on the subsequent two. It’s a move that promises to turn the “Greene-verse” into a cinematic staple rooted in emotional depth, sharp humor, and the kind of “soft life” romance we can’t get enough of.

A Shared Mission for Black Women

The partnership between Pride and Forest feels less like a standard Hollywood deal and more like a meeting of the minds. Both women have built careers on centering Black women’s interior lives with grace and wit.

“I’ve been a fan of Felicia Pride’s work for years, and we share the same mission of creating life-affirming art featuring Black women,” author Kristina Forest shared in an announcement. “I’m so thrilled that Honey Chile has optioned The Greene Sisters series and I’m excited for all that’s to come.”

For Pride, the acquisition is a natural evolution for HONEY CHILE as the company celebrates its fifth anniversary. Known for its “by us, for us” ethos, the production house has become a sanctuary for stories that feel like a long talk with your best friend.

“Kristina is such a smart writer whose work completely draws you into her worlds,” Pride said. “Her Greene Sisters trilogy captures romance, ambition, and partnership in ways that feel aspirational and deeply familiar. As we mark five years in operation, our commitment to telling layered, culturally resonant stories—the kind born in our living rooms, hair salons, and girls’ trips—has never been stronger.”

The Pride Renaissance

The news comes as Pride is having a definitive “it” girl moment in the industry. She’s currently serving as Showrunner and Executive Producer for Netflix’s highly anticipated A Different World sequel. The new series follows Deborah Wayne—the youngest daughter of our forever favorites, Dwayne Wayne and Whitley Gilbert—as she carves out her own path at Hillman College.

If that weren’t enough to keep her busy, Pride recently wrapped a stint as Co-Executive Producer on Peacock’s Bel-Air, where she penned the final season premiere. The drama is currently riding high with seven NAACP Image Award nominations for the recent 2026 ceremony, further proving that Pride knows exactly how to tap into the cultural zeitgeist.

With The Greene Sisters, Pride is leaning into the “world-building” she’s perfected, bringing her signature lens on intimacy and ambition to a global readership that has been hungry to see these characters come to life.

Five Years of Excellence

Founded in 2020, HONEY CHILE Entertainment has quickly become a premier destination for bold, premium storytelling. With a specific mandate to champion Black women 40+, the company works across film, TV, digital, and audio to highlight the lives of women who are often underserved or stereotyped on screen.

Whether it’s the “push and pull” of career success or the quiet moments of vulnerability in a new relationship, HONEY CHILE’s stories are rooted in a “nuance and authenticity” that resonates. Pride isn’t just making movies, but ensuring that our stories of love and sisterhood are told with the premium production and emotional honesty they deserve.
