Their connection grew beyond their on-screen roles, evolving into a sisterhood filled with mutual support and mentorship. Kilgore recalled a pivotal moment during a conference with their showrunner, where the complexities of their characters’ mother-daughter relationship mirrored their growing personal bond. “Not only did our characters immediately intertwine and lock in. LeToya became a sister to me. She advised, guided and held me up not only as my scene partner. But as a true friend and mentor,” Kilgore shared.
The journey of their friendship took a beautiful turn when Luckett confided in Kilgore about a special someone in her life—Taleo Coles. Kilgore, ever the curious and protective little sister, had many questions about Coles. “I could see right away that this man not only ADORES her but RESPECTS and HONORS her! He was also falling in love with Gigi and Tysun and they fell in love RIGHT BACK,” Kilgore noted, reflecting on the warmth and love that Coles brought into Luckett’s life.
The culmination of this beautiful journey was when Luckett asked Kilgore to sing at her wedding—a request that left Kilgore in tears of joy. “When LeToya asked me to sing her down the aisle… It was an immediate YES (after I ugly cried for a good five minutes)!” Kilgore recounted. Witnessing the blossoming love between Luckett and Coles from its early stages was a magical experience for Kilgore, reminding her of the true love she had seen in her parents.
In her touching post, Kilgore expressed her deep love and admiration for Luckett, thanking her for the unwavering support and guidance she had provided. She also extended her gratitude to Coles for loving Luckett in the way she deserved. “LeToya, I love you so much and I know you are in incredible hands with this man. Thank you for everything you are and continue to be. Taleo, thank you for loving my sister the way she deserves to be loved. What you both have is truly special. Congrats Y’all!!!!” Kilgore concluded.
Congratulations to LeToya Luckett and Taleo Coles on their union, celebrated with love, music, and the cherished presence of close friends and family.
