Fifty years after their last performance at the world-famous Carnegie Hall, legendary soul group The Stylistics are returning to the iconic stage this fall. On October 11th at 8 p.m., the celebrated R&B group will once again bring their smooth, timeless sound to the Stern Auditorium / Perelman Stage as part of their Falling in Love with My Girl tour, The Stylistics announced.

Known for their signature hits like “You Are Everything,” “Break Up to Make Up,” and “Betcha by Golly, Wow,” The Stylistics helped shape the sound of soul in the 1970s. Their blend of sweet love ballads and life-affirming anthems won over hearts around the world, earning them a permanent place in the annals of R&B history. Founding members Airrion Love and Herb Murrell, along with Jason Sharp, continue to captivate audiences across the globe with their melodic harmonies and rich legacy.
Formed in Philadelphia in 1966, The Stylistics were born out of two local high school groups, The Percussions and The Monarchs. With guidance from their teacher, Beverly Hamilton, and an early record deal from Bill Perry, the group quickly found success with their first single, “You’re a Big Girl Now.” But it was their collaboration with legendary Philly producer Thom Bell that truly launched them into stardom. The group’s debut album featured hits like “Stop, Look, Listen to Your Heart” and “You Are Everything,” and they continued to dominate the charts throughout the ‘70s.
Reflecting on their five-decade career, Love shared, “It fills us with immense joy to still be performing for audiences after more than 50 years. When we began this journey as schoolmates, we knew we had the talent and drive, but to still connect with audiences so many decades later is a true honor and blessing. We look forward to celebrating with fans at Carnegie Hall.”
In addition to their two GRAMMY Awards, The Stylistics were inducted into the Philadelphia Music Alliance’s Walk of Fame and honored in the second annual GRAMMY Salute to Music Legends in 2017. Now, with their Carnegie Hall return, the group is proving once again that their music transcends time, remaining as relevant today as it was 50 years ago.
Opening the show will be Tom’s Elton Tribute, a homage to Elton John led by performer Tom Cridland.
