A new collaboration between Wick and Glow Candle Company and the estate of legendary singer Betty Wright brings a unique way to honor her memory and experience a side of her life beyond the stage.

According to a recent announcement by the Wick and Glow Candle Company, the “Betty Wright Limited Candle Collection” is a curated set of three-wick, luxury scented candles. Each fragrance was chosen by Wright’s daughters–with great attention to detail–to reflect her personality and offer fans a deeper look into who she was as a person.

A true legend in the music industry, Betty Wright’s career spanned decades. She began singing professionally at the age of two and released her first solo album at 14. Hits like “Clean Up Woman” and “Girls Can’t Do What the Guys Do” cemented her place in music history.

Wright was a mentor to other artists and a collaborator with superstars like Gloria Estefan and Snoop Dogg. Her music continues to be sampled by contemporary artists, ensuring her influence endures.

“Our mom was so much more than her music,” says Namphuyo Aisha, one of Wright’s daughters. “She loved using scented candles to create a certain mood in her home. This collection gives fans a chance to experience that side of her and connect with her on a more personal level.”

The collaboration feels particularly special because Wick and Glow Candle Company is a Black-owned, female-led business, mirroring Wright’s own entrepreneurial spirit. “We’re honored to create these candles as a tribute to Ms. Wright,” says Brandi H.
