Russell recently got a special sneak peek of the reimagined Country Bear Jamboree, set to debut at Walt Disney World Resort on July 17th. In a video posted to the Disney Parks Instagram account (which you can see below), we get a glimpse of Russell’s excitement as she experiences the attraction’s transformation firsthand.
A Beloved Attraction Gets a Fresh Look
According to Disney Parks Blog, The Country Bear Jamboree has been a staple of Frontierland at Magic Kingdom Park for more than 50 years. This new iteration promises a fresh take on the classic experience, featuring a revamped show with Nashville-inspired arrangements of popular Disney tunes.
A Perfect Fit for Teddi Barra
Russell takes on the role of Teddi Barra, the swinging sweetheart of the Country Bear Jamboree. Her powerful vocals and soulful delivery are a perfect fit for the character’s signature ballad, “A Whole New World” (originally from Aladdin). In the video, Russell shares her enthusiasm for the project, “I’m kind of bringing the all-Americana jam to this.”
More Than Just Country
The reimagined Country Bear Jamboree expands on the musical styles explored in the original show, incorporating elements of blues, folk, and bluegrass alongside the classic country tunes. This aligns perfectly with Russell’s own musical background, which blends genres like folk, Americana, and blues to create a unique and captivating sound.
