Family, we need to talk. You’ve seen what’s happening around us—books being banned, history being rewritten, and attempts to silence voices that look and sound like ours. It’s a reminder that our stories, our culture, and our contributions are not guaranteed to be told unless we tell them. That’s exactly why I Love Us exists.

We’re here to celebrate us—the artists, the dreamers, the innovators, and the everyday Black folks doing extraordinary things. Whether it’s a painter shaking up the art world, a mom-turned-CEO building a brand from the ground up, or a filmmaker reimagining how we see ourselves on screen, I Love Us is about making sure the world knows what we already do: Black excellence is everywhere.

When we started I Love Us in 2024, it wasn’t just about creating another publication. It was about creating a space that feels like home. My collaborator in life and vision, Dewey Johnson, IV, and I built this platform out of love—love for the arts, for Black-owned businesses, and for lifting each other up in the ways that truly matter.

But keeping this space alive and thriving takes work—and we can’t do it alone. As an independent platform, we rely on the support of folks like you who believe in the importance of telling our stories, in our voices, on our terms.

Your donation helps us shine a light on those who deserve to be seen, heard, and celebrated. It helps us write the articles, create the content, and keep the door open for the next Black creator, entrepreneur, or trailblazer. Every single dollar goes right back into amplifying us.

So, here’s the ask: if you’ve been inspired by something you’ve read or seen here, or if you just believe that Black stories matter, please consider making a donation today. It doesn’t have to be big—just from the heart.

Together, we can keep I Love Us going strong and ensure that our stories are here for generations to come. Thank you for being part of this journey with us. We love you, and we love us.
