Bounce TV’s latest original series, Mind Your Business, has burst onto the scene with an impressive debut, capturing the hearts of over 2 million households during its premiere weekend, according to Nielsen data. This achievement marks a new record for Bounce original series, showcasing the widespread appeal and anticipation for this fresh, family-centered comedy.

Mind Your Business kicked off with a back-to-back premiere of its first two episodes on Saturday, June 1, from 8-9 p.m. ET. The initial airing was bolstered by special presentations on Bounce’s sister network ION and locally owned and operated Scripps networks. The 10-episode first season aims to keep audiences entertained every Saturday night throughout the summer, leading into the much-anticipated return of the hit series Johnson on August 3.

This half-hour sitcom features a stellar ensemble cast including Columbus Short (Scandal, Stomp the Yard), Drew Sidora (The Real Housewives of Atlanta, The Game), Rolonda Watts (Rolonda), and singer and radio host Bebe Winans. Set in Chicago, the show centers around the Williams family, who run an event and party space, navigating the ups and downs of family dynamics and business challenges.

Lucille Williams, portrayed by Watts, once owned a thriving 30s-and-older lounge, Lucille’s Place, which suffered a significant blow during the pandemic, forcing its closure. Enter Henry, Lucille’s baby brother (played by Winans), who is determined to keep the family business alive. He enlists his fraternal twins, Aaliyah (Sidora) and Alfonso (Short), to rejuvenate the space with their unique talents—Aaliyah’s creativity and Alfonso’s business acumen. The new Lucille’s becomes a bustling hub for planning and hosting events, drawing the entire family into the fold, including Alfonso’s wife Kimberly and their son, Alfonso Jr. Aaliyah also brings in a close family friend, Mia, adding her jack-of-all-trades flair to the team.

However, the Williams family’s personal affairs often result in chaos, leading to comedic and heartfelt moments that resonate with viewers. Mind Your Business doesn’t just entertain; it reflects the reality of many small businesses and families trying to navigate post-pandemic life while celebrating the importance of togetherness and resilience.

The show also features talented actors Caryn Ward Ross (Fame), Brely Evans (Carl Weber’s The Family Business), Bryce Xavier (A Bennett Song Holiday), and Chloe Elise Ellis (Borrasca).

Mind Your Business is a production of Harvest Studios, with Bentley Kyle Evans (Martin, The Jamie Foxx Show) serving as executive producer. The show’s success out of the gate speaks volumes about its potential to become a staple in Bounce TV’s lineup, continuing to draw in viewers with its relatable characters and humorous take on family and business life.

As the summer unfolds, viewers can look forward to more laughter, drama, and heartfelt moments with the Williams family every Saturday night.
