The Hollywood Walk of Fame, known for celebrating the achievements of entertainment professionals, has announced its Class of 2025 honorees. Among the distinguished group, several Black artists are set to receive stars, in celebration of their significant contributions to the arts and entertainment industry.
The announcement was made on June 24, 2024, during a live press conference hosted by Hollywood Chamber of Commerce President Steven Nissen, alongside Walk of Famers Niecy Nash, Joe Mantegna, and music producer Jimmy Jam. The event, held at Ovation Hollywood, unveiled the names of those selected from hundreds of nominations.
Peter Roth, Chairman of the Walk of Fame Selection Committee, expressed his excitement: “The Walk of Fame has made history again! Each honoree truly embodies the essence of excellence in their respective fields.”

Honorees in Motion Pictures
Bill Duke, Nia Long, and Glynn Turman are among the notable Black artists honored in the Motion Pictures category. Duke, an actor and director known for his powerful performances and significant contributions behind the camera, joins the ranks of Hollywood legends. Nia Long, celebrated for her versatile acting skills and memorable roles in films like Boyz n the Hood and The Best Man franchise, also earns a well-deserved star. Glynn Turman, an accomplished actor and director with a career spanning decades, is recognized for his impactful work in both film and television.
Honorees in Television
Sherri Shepherd and Courtney B. Vance are recognized in the Television category. Shepherd, a comedian, actress, and television personality, has captivated audiences with her humor and charm. Vance, an Emmy-winning actor known for his compelling roles in series such as The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story, continues to make a profound impact on television.
Honorees in Recording
The Recording category celebrates Fantasia, The Isley Brothers, Busta Rhymes, and Prince (posthumous). Fantasia, the Grammy-winning singer who rose to fame as the winner of American Idol, has inspired many with her powerful voice and emotional performances. The Isley Brothers, legendary for their timeless hits and influence on multiple music genres, receive a well-deserved honor. Busta Rhymes, a pioneering figure in hip-hop, is celebrated for his dynamic style and influential career spanning over three decades. The late Prince–an icon whose incomparable music and artistry have left a major mark on the world–is honored posthumously for his extraordinary contributions to music.
Honorees in Live Theatre/Live Performance
In the Live Theatre/Live Performance category, Misty Copeland stands out. As the first African American female principal dancer with the prestigious American Ballet Theatre, Copeland has broken barriers and inspired countless individuals through her extraordinary talent and dedication to the arts.
